Some people have asked, “Can you really call yourself a social media genius?” My answer is simply this. “One is not born a genius. One becomes a genius.”
We didn’t come up with that saying, but whoever did was right on target.
Here’s the story behind The Social Media Genius. (It’s the condensed version because nowadays people don’t want to read too much content at one time.
Jamee Rae Pineda, the creative genius behind all this madness, was happily working as a journalist and business/marketing writer. Yes, it was a good life. Jamee had marked the trail and was moving safely along the writer’s path she had carefully carved out. She knew where she had come from, was well aware of where she was going, and wasn’t about to let anything get her off track
In 2007, one of Jamee’s key clients (Karen Fronek of Make It Happen Marketing) inquired about the possibility of adding social media to Jamee’s list of business and marketing services. Jamee initially declined, but Karen was relentless. She invited Jamee to lunch at The Red Robin using French Onion Soup as a bribe. Jamee couldn’t resist the soup, or the challenge Karen put before her. “It’s time Jamee. You have no choice but to dive in because social media is here, and it’s here to stay. You will be left in the dust if you don’t do it.”
Allergic to dust and hoping for future soup dates, Jamee agreed to add social media to her repertoire of services. Today, Jamee is The Social Media Genius who rescues business owners and marketing managers in social media distress.
